Church History

Holy Recovery International Church (HRIC) formerly named “Holy Recovery Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C.)” is a multi-generational non-denominational church located in the heart of the urban communities it serves throughout the City of Milwaukee,Wisconsin. HRIC was founded in 1995 with the core mission to empower the whole person spiritually, physically, emotionally and intellectually. To assist in social necessities through the Word of God by preaching the good news of Jesus Christ while bridging the gap by leading the lost to the cross, and empowering individuals to become self-actualized in their communities. HRIC was founded by Bishop Anthony M.Martin, Sr. and First Lady Debra A. Hall-Martin and their five children along with a few other members started services in the basement of their home. In 1995 the Lord blessed them to purchase their current location at 1238 West Atkinson Avenue, Milwaukee, WI.

For the next 21 years the Church would see growth and transformation throughout all levels of the ministry in part to the preaching and teachings of Bishop Martin which reflected in their 600 plus members and partners locally and nationally. In 2009 Bishop Martin in line with the mission and vision of HRIC official release his membership and the Church’s from the Church of God in Christ, Inc. (C.O.G.I.C.) governing body and reformed the church as an independent non-denominational ministry with a new affliction thru Grace International Fellowship Inc. With this new partnership and direction the Church, officially changed its name in 2010 to its present name Holy Recovery International Church to reflect its new global and inclusive reach and out pour of the Love and Power of God. Through the leadership of Bishop and First Lady Martin the Church continues to meet the needs of its people and communities.
